Job description

Job Title: Transportation Planner

GTS is seeking a Transportation Planner based in Southern California to focus on land-use transportation projects and multimodal transportation planning. The role involves preparing CEQA documents, working on specific and general plans, and reviewing multimodal site plans.

Responsibilities include:

1. Analyzing and solving land-use transportation planning and engineering problems.
2. Supporting project managers in communication with team members, including municipality staff, private developers, other consultants, decision-makers, and the public.
3. Working on projects such as multimodal transportation impact studies, CEQA transportation sections, campus plans, impact fee studies, and regional transportation plans.
4. Mentoring and training colleagues, with mentorship from senior staff.

Qualifications:

• At least five years of relevant experience in transportation analysis under CEQA and land-use transportation planning.
• Understanding of operations analysis and travel demand forecasting.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Bachelor's degree in transportation or civil engineering, urban and regional planning, or a related field.
• Experience in mentoring and training less-experienced staff.
