Job summary

Integra Mission Critical, LLC. is seeking a Sr Quality Technician Mechanical in Houston. You will perform complex inspections of mechanical equipment, interpret drawings and BOMs, and serve as a technical resource for quality and production teams.

• 5+ years of progressive mechanical manufacturing assembly, fabrication, testing or inspection experience.
• Experience performing complex mechanical inspections and supporting containment, investigations or product release.
• Experience mentoring or training Quality or Production personnel.
• Strong ability to interpret mechanical drawings, BOMs, specs and inspection requirements.
• Proficiency with mechanical inspection and measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex incoming, in-process and final inspections of mechanical equipment and components.
• Support first article, first build and other critical product inspections.
• Interpret drawings, BOMs, specifications, inspection checklists and acceptance criteria.
• Inspect complex structural assemblies, piping systems, pumps, valves, tanks and supports.
• Verify dimensions, fit-up, alignment, clearances and bolting torque.
• Review pressure test, leak test and cleaning records.
• Mentor Quality Technicians and Lead Quality Technicians on inspection methods.
• Evaluate nonconforming conditions and escalation paths requiring leadership review.
• Support containment evidence collection and root cause investigations.
• Ensure disposition of nonconformances and closure with proper documentation.
• Suggest practical improvements by reviewing recurring defects.
• Support customer inspections and factory acceptance tests.

The Opportunity

The Sr Quality Technician Mechanical performs complex and critical inspections of mechanical equipment and components and serves as a technical resource for Quality Technicians, Production personnel and Quality leadership. The position supports first builds, significant quality issues containment, investigations, correction verification and final product readiness.

What you will do

• Perform complex incoming in process and or final inspections including ready to ship inspections of mechanical equipment and components
• Support first article first build first of kind and other critical product inspections
• Serve as a technical resource for interpreting mechanical drawings bills of material specifications inspection checklists and acceptance criteria
• Inspect complex structural assemblies piping systems pumps valves tanks equipment supports and related mechanical equipment
• Verify critical dimensions fit up alignment level clearances bolting torque piping connections and assembly completeness
• Review completed pressure test leak test cleaning and mechanical inspection records
• Support inspection priorities and resolution of significant production floor Quality issues across multiple units
• Mentor Quality Technicians and Lead Quality Technicians on mechanical inspection methods and technical requirements
• Evaluate complex or unclear nonconforming conditions and escape issues requiring Engineering or Quality leadership review
• Support containment evidence collection root cause investigations corrective actions and effectiveness verification
• Determine whether similar conditions may affect other components assemblies or units and support broader containment as needed
• Verify rework corrections testing documentation and closure or approved disposition of nonconformances before final acceptance
• Review recurring defects and inspection findings and recommend practical improvements
• Support the development and improvement of inspection checklists inspection methods and acceptance criteria
• Support customer inspections audits factory acceptance tests and product release activities
• Protect the accuracy integrity and traceability of inspection records and supporting evidence
• Base product conformance decisions on approved requirements actual product condition and objective evidence
• Report significant product risks unresolved conditions and potential escapes clearly and promptly

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Five or more years of progressive mechanical manufacturing assembly fabrication testing or inspection experience preferred
• Experience performing complex mechanical inspections and supporting containment first builds investigations correction verification or product release activities
• Experience mentoring or training Quality or Production personnel
• Advanced working knowledge of mechanical equipment and component assembly structural steel piping systems pumps valves tanks supports and bolted or welded assemblies
• Strong ability to interpret mechanical drawings bills of material specifications dimensions tolerances and inspection requirements
• Strong knowledge of flanged and threaded piping gaskets bolting torque alignment fit up pressure testing leak testing and cleanliness controls
• Proficiency with mechanical inspection and measuring equipment
• Ability to evaluate complex findings and determine when broader containment additional inspection or technical review is required
• Working knowledge of nonconformance documentation root cause investigation corrective action verification and final product acceptance
• Strong judgment technical communication mentoring organization and problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certificate or associate degree in mechanical technology welding piping fabrication industrial technology or a related field preferred
• Knowledge in welding inspection bolting pressure testing or NDT training preferred
• Basic computer skills and the ability to use computers to access drawings and documentation complete inspection records and communicate inspection results preferred
