Job summary

HOERBIGER Automatisierungstechnik Holding GmbH in Delray Beach, Florida is seeking a Quality Engineer I to monitor and improve the quality of operational processes and outputs. You will implement effective quality controls and contribute to long-term quality planning, including updating procedures and training operators.

The role requires root-cause analysis, problem-solving expertise, and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in quality or mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
• 5–8 years of quality experience.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Review and update procedures and work instructions across all departments to improve quality of completed parts and assemblies.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions with verification (training material for operators to prevent recurrence).
• Investigate and troubleshoot product or production issues using problem-solving methodologies (5 Whys, 8D, RCA).
• Develop and implement ISO 9001:2015 quality systems.
• Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
• Manage supplier/customer quality through SAP return module.
• Support special test requests (CofC, lift test, MTRs) and document results.

The Quality Engineer I will monitor and improve the quality of the operational processes and outputs. Assist with implementing effective quality controls to achieve goals for a strategic/long term quality planning.

How you will make a difference

• Review and update current procedures and work instructions for all departments along with any special processes that would contribute to the quality of a completed part and/or assembly. Assist with writing a new procedures/work instruction as needed.
• Identify the root cause and/or corrective action implementation/ effectiveness verification (create training material for operators to eliminate the non-conforming event in the future)
• Assisting with investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues. Use methodologies of problem solving (5 Ways, 8D, root cause analysis, etc.).
• Assisting with developing and implementing quality systems in accordance with ISO 9001:2015
• Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
• Developing and implementing quality standards of all product line(s) including valve assembly and/or failures that may occur.
• Manage supplier/customer quality through SAP return module
• Support sale order special requests including testing measurement and documentation (CofC, lift test, MTR’s, etc.)

What you should be good at

• Bachelor’s degree in quality engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent and/or 5-8 years quality experience
• Experience with ERP
• Analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Oral Communication - Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions.
• Written Communication - Fluent in product /process analysis, SPC reporting, vendor/customer relations. Presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
