Job summary

Burkert USA Corp is seeking aQuality Assurance professional to manage and improve the Quality Management System in a manufacturing setting. The role focuses on statistically driven process improvement, inspection enhancements, and CAPA implementation to resolve issues.

Responsibilities include supplier audits, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to maintain ISO standards and drive continuous quality improvements. Travel up to 10% is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical major; Master’s degree a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of quality systems incl. statistics, reliability, sampling and auditing.
  • 1–2 years preferred in Quality Engineering or a technical discipline.
  • Manufacturing environment experience.
  • ISO quality management standards knowledge a plus; Six Sigma Green Belt a plus; Lean in production/warehousing a plus.
  • Proficient with SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, written and verbal.
  • Travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System to ISO standards.
  • Identify statistical methods to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Improve inspection processes with sampling plans and confidence levels.
  • Perform data analyses including hypothesis tests and process capability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement CAPA using DMAIC and 8D/5Why.
  • Address customer complaints with corrective and preventive actions.
  • Audit suppliers and support QA reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for Quality Management System inclusive of process and procedure development/implementation that aligns with ISO standards
  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Enhance quality inspection process utilizing statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error; determining levels of confidence
  • Analyzes data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests
  • Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of CAPA for quality improvement related concerns utilizing DMAIC methodology and 8D/5Why tools.
  • Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
  • Continuously improving QA receiving inspection process and procedures.
  • Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions, and preventive actions
  • Assist suppliers' performance and conduct audits.
  • Preparation of QA reports.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical Major; Master's Degree a plus
  • Basic knowledge of quality systems is required (statistics, reliability, sampling, and auditing).
  • 1-2 years preferred in Quality Engineering or Technical Discipline
  • Manufacturing environment experience
  • Knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems standards a plus
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plus
  • Lean Implementation in a production, warehousing and distribution environment a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, written & verbal
  • Proficient with SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task; Perform duties with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy
  • Travel 10%
