Job summary

Burkert USA Corporation in Huntersville, NC is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead the Quality Management System and drive ISO compliance. You will analyze processes, develop sampling plans, and implement CAPA using DMAIC and 8D/5Why tools.

The role requires a engineering degree, knowledge of quality systems, and hands-on experience with statistical methods, GD&T, AutoCAD, SAP, and Microsoft Office. Travel around 10% is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical Major; Master’s Degree a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of quality systems (statistics, reliability, sampling, and auditing).
  • 1-2 years preferred in Quality Engineering or Technical Discipline Manufacturing environment experience
  • Knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems standards a plus
  • GD&T/Engineering Prints; AutoCAD a plus
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plus
  • Lean Implementation in a production, warehousing and distribution environment a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, written & verbal
  • Proficient with SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task; Travel 10%

Responsibilities

  • Lead Quality Management System development and ISO alignment.
  • Identify statistical methods to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Enhance inspection with sampling plans and confidence levels.
  • Perform data analysis including hypothesis testing and process capability.
  • Develop sampling plans using attribute, variable, and sequential sampling.
  • Lead CAPA using DMAIC and 8D/5Why tools.
  • Address customer complaints with corrective actions.
  • Improve QA receiving inspection processes.
  • Coordinate supplier audits and remedy actions.
  • Prepare QA reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for Quality Management System inclusive of process and procedure development/implementation that aligns with ISO standards
  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Enhance quality inspection process utilizing statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error; determining levels of confidence
  • Analyzes data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests
  • Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of CAPA for quality improvement related concerns utilizing DMAIC methodology and 8D/5Why tools.
  • Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
  • Continuously improving QA receiving inspection process and procedures.
  • Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions, and preventive actions
  • Assist suppliers’ performance and conduct audits.
  • Preparation of QA reports.
