Job Title: Production Manager

Job Purpose:

To oversee the development and execution of production activities to achieve goals related to production, quality, and costs. Responsible for managing team staffing, training, development, and performance, as well as prioritizing schedules, managing budgets, and developing manpower plans. The role involves selecting and evaluating personnel to ensure operational efficiency.

Job Description and Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the development and implementation of production activities to meet objectives related to production, quality, and costs.
  2. Manage team activities, including staffing, training, development, and performance management.
  3. Prioritize production schedules based on product launches, equipment efficiency, and material supply.
  4. Develop schedules and manpower requirements; evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation; provide weekly updates to production schedules to the team and customer.
  5. Establish daily, weekly, and monthly production plans considering material availability, capacity, and priorities in collaboration with the Production supervisor.
  6. Monitor and oversee production builds, review progress, and make adjustments as necessary.
  7. Coordinate with planning, stockroom, and purchasing teams to ensure smooth material flow.
  8. Review production capacities and proactively address capacity constraints, including hiring decisions.
  9. Collaborate with HR on recruitment based on required skill sets.
  10. Work with Program Management on new orders and contract reviews.
  11. Understand material flow, shortages, and product quality issues.
  12. Experience working with ERP/MRP systems like Oracle, SAP, etc.
  13. Coordinate daily activities across departments and resolve issues.
  14. Manage workload, scheduling, personnel documentation, shifts, overtime, and vacation requests.
  15. Demonstrate customer-focused leadership, capable of scheduling, forecasting, and meeting deadlines.
  16. Mentor and develop workforce to support quality-driven, customer-focused operations.
  17. Review manufacturing processes, evaluate efficiency, and implement improvements with clear documentation.
  18. Proactively solve problems with a sense of urgency and high energy.
  19. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  20. Apply lean manufacturing principles and understand ISO9001 and AS9100 standards.
Education and Experience:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing/industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field preferred; or Electronics Technician with an AS degree, military electronics training, or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum of 5+ years in contract manufacturing production, preferably in PCBA manufacturing, with supervisory or managerial experience.
  3. Experience with NPI/prototype builds in high-mix/low-volume environments.
  4. Proficient in identifying production gaps and implementing solutions.
  5. Experience in training and coaching in Lean and World Class manufacturing principles.

Salary Range (annual): $120,000 - $135,000. The actual salary will depend on experience, education, certifications, and skills. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plans, paid holidays, PTO, and potential participation in stock and bonus programs.
