Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations and Missile Defense Integration seeks a Sr. Principal Software Engineer — Level 4 in Colorado Springs, CO. You will support MS&A programs, developing defense software using C++, Python and Java, with emphasis on quality and rapid iterations.

You’ll work across disciplines, design and verify software, and ensure compliance with customer requirements while leveraging modern tools and CI/CD practices in a dynamic defense environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related work experience, or a Master’s with 6 years, or 4 years with PhD.
• Active Top Secret DoD clearance required to start.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
• Experience in C/C++, Java, Python or similar OO languages.
• Experience with test-driven development and CM tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, document and debug software applications and systems.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and designers on software planning and development.
• Ensure software standards meet customer requirements and project goals.
