Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Level 5 to join our missile defense, space and intelligence programs. The role focuses on designing and implementing software in C/C++, Python and related languages for complex defense analyses.

You will contribute to modeling, simulation and analysis across MS&A projects, work with Linux environments, and participate in code quality and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience, or Master’s with 10 years, or 8 years with a PhD.
• Active in-scope DoD Top Secret clearance required to start.
• Travel up to 10% to support business needs.
• Experience in C/C++, Java, Python or similar OO languages.
• Experience with test-driven development.
• Experience with Git and collaboration tools (GitHub/GitLab/Jira).
• Ability to learn quickly and absorb new concepts.
• Experience with Linux, scripting, and operations.
• Experience MBSE and complex algorithm implementation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with hardware engineers and domain experts on product software.
• Ensure software standards meet customer requirements and quality gates.
