Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration is seeking a Principal Software Engineer – X-Lab Software Developer (26-351) to join our on-site team at Schriever Space Force Base, CO. The role focuses on Java/Spring-based applications, secure software development, and cross-functional collaboration with DoD stakeholders.

You will work in a defense-focused environment, implementing secure coding practices, building web front ends, and coordinating with Windows and Unix/Linux systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE/Math/Physics or related field and 5 years of experience; or Master’s with 3 years; or 9 years without a degree.
• Active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher required at time of application.
• Current DoD-issued Secret clearance required to start with potential to read on to TS/SCI.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated proficiency in Java and Spring, with experience in OO programming, web development, and automated build processes.
• Work across Windows and Unix/Linux, meeting deadlines while adapting to changing requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts clearly, in written and verbal form.
• Develop and maintain secure web front ends using HTML, XML, and JavaScript.
• Apply security best practices and adhere to defense industry regulations throughout the software lifecycle.
• Support build, version control, and configuration management using Eclipse, Maven, Git/GitLab, and Ansible.
