Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector in Huntsville, AL seeks a Sr. Principal Software Engineer – Level 4 to support the Ground-based Midcourse Defense Weapon System. The role involves full stack cloud development in an IaaS platform, with languages like Python, C++, C#, and automation tools.

Onsite duties on the Huntsville campus, with 10% travel and a Secret clearance requirement. Required are a STEM degree with 4–8 years experience, DoD 8140 IAT II+, RMF knowledge, Windows/Red Hat expertise, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8 years of related experience; or Master’s with 6 years; or PhD with 4 years.
• US Citizenship and an active DoD Secret level clearance or higher.
• DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher at time of application and ongoing.
• RMF knowledge and cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Experience developing software/scripts with C#, C++, Python, PowerShell and Bash.
• Experience with revision control (BitBucket, git, CVS, etc.).
• Experience with Windows and Red Hat technologies; Windows Active Directory; SQL integration.
• Scripting, command-line usage, and strong troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Full stack software cloud development in an Infrastructure as a Service platform (IaaS).
• Develop cloud software for GWS program and customer requirements.
• Develop software enabling activity planning and constraint checking to meet mission outcomes.
• Support development, integration, deployment and sustainment of network and infrastructure equipment.
