Northrop Grumman in Colorado Springs, CO, is seeking a Sr. Principal Software Engineer–Level 4 to join our Space Systems team. You will support missile defense, space and intel programs, performing software development in C++, Python, and related tools on challenging MS&A projects.

A current DoD Top Secret clearance is required. Basic qualifications include a STEM degree with 8 years of experience (or a Master’s with 6, or a PhD with 4), and willingness to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8 years related work experience, or Master's with 6 years, or PhD with 4 years.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance required to start.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Experience in C/C++, Java, Python; test-driven development.
• Familiarity with Git-based configuration management tools.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, tests and debugs software for defense systems.
• Collaborates with hardware engineers on product software planning and development.
• Ensures software standards meet customer requirements.
