Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on Linux/Windows system administration, IaC, CM tooling, and secure cloud-native deployments.

You will work with microservices, containers, and serverless architectures, designing secure, scalable infrastructure. Requires DoD Secret clearance, strong Linux/Windows expertise, and experience with DISA STIGs, LDAP/Kerberos/SAML/OAuth, and virtualization platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science with 8+ years experience; or Master's with 6 years; PhD with 4 years; or 4 additional years of experience.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance at time of application.
• Current Security+ or equivalent or DoD 8570 / AFMAN 17-1303 IASAE 2 level qualification within 6 months of hire.
• 2+ years in directory services protocols (LDAP, Kerberos, SAML, OAuth) and integration/implementation.
• 2+ years managing headless systems with PowerShell and Bash.
• 2+ years implementing DISA STIGs on various OS and platforms.
• Understanding TCP/IP, subnets, routing, and VLANs.
• Proficiency in on-prem virtualization and cloud orchestration (VMware vSphere, OpenStack, Hyper-V, Nutanix).

Responsibilities

• Administer Linux and Windows systems.
• Automate deployment, operation, and maintenance using IaC and CM tooling.
• Work with microservices and distributed architectures (containers, Kubernetes, serverless).
• Implement infrastructure-as-code following best practices.
• Automate cloud-native tech in air-gapped environments and provision infrastructure.
• Design and implement security measures and policies.
• Provide guidance and training to team members.
