Job summary

Mytra is seeking a Packaging Engineer to own end-to-end packaging across inbound, outbound, direct shipment, and field service materials. You will define packaging standards, work with design and supply vendors, and ensure alignment with carrier constraints and customs across international contexts.

You will lead qualification testing (ISTA/ASTM), develop packaging specs and BOMs, and partner with logistics, warehouse, engineering, and manufacturing teams to scale packaging as deployment grows.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years in industrial or transit packaging engineering
• Experience designing and qualifying packaging for complex hardware
• Designed and managed returnable packaging programs
• Familiar with ISTA/ASTM packaging standards
• Worked with packaging suppliers and fabricators
• Understand logistics constraints and customs and import/export requirements
• Strong documentation for specs and BOMs

Responsibilities

• Own packaging design and development across all four material paths.
• Lead the returnable packaging program end-to-end.
• Qualify packaging through testing (ISTA, ASTM) across scenarios.
• Engage early in product development with logistics and manufacturing.
• Source and manage packaging suppliers and ensure lead times and quality.
• Develop and maintain packaging documentation and labeling for all SKUs.
• Design field service packaging kits for technicians.
• Track packaging performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Partner with logistics and 3PLs on carrier requirements and customs.
