Mytra Robotics in Brisbane, CA is seeking a Packaging Engineer to own end‑to‑end packaging across four material paths for hardware moving through our network. You’ll define standards from scratch and work with vendors, testing, and field teams to scale deployment.

Qualifications

• Have 4–7 years of experience in industrial or transit packaging engineering.
• Have designed and managed returnable packaging programs.
• Are experienced working to international packaging and shipping standards (ISTA, ASTM).
• Have worked directly with packaging suppliers and fabricators.
• Understand logistics constraints that shape packaging decisions.
• Strong documentation skills for specs, BOMs, and packing procedures.
• Clear cross-functional communication across engineering, logistics, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Own packaging design and development across all four material paths - inbound, outbound, direct-from-supplier, and spare parts.
• Lead the returnable packaging program end-to-end - standards, outsourcing, return loops, and scaling.
• Qualify packaging through testing - ISTA, ASTM across drop, vibration, compression, and climate scenarios.
• Engage early in product development - define packaging requirements with design and logistics teams.
• Source and manage packaging suppliers - foam, crating, containers, and totes; monitor lead time and quality.
• Develop and maintain packaging documentation - BOMs, specs, packing instructions, labeling.
• Design field service packaging kits for technicians; balance protection and usability.
• Track packaging performance and drive continuous improvement across the network.
• Partner with logistics and 3PLs to align with carrier and customs requirements.
