Job summary

Mytra is creating a new class of robotic systems for the supply chain, headquartered in Brisbane, CA. We are seeking a mechanical engineer to lead the development of distributed cooperative robotics with close collaboration across electrical and software teams.

You will prototype, test, and iterate on electro-mechanical systems, drive concepts for volume production, and support deployments at customer sites while focusing on reliability and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Mechatronics with 3+ years of industry experience.
• Experience designing and debugging electromechanical systems.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks and Onshape); FEA experience (ANSYS) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience with 3D printing, sheet metal design, casting, injection molding, prototype manufacturing and assembly.

Responsibilities

• Create novel electro-mechanical mechanisms and systems for a mobile robotics platform and validate them using rapid prototyping fabrication methods
• Build, debug and support prototype robots
• Develop designs for volume production methods, knowledge of casting, injection molding, stamping, and other volume production processes
• Perform failure modes analysis
• Create work instructions for fabricating robotic systems
• Develop concepts for systems to meet design requirements
• Support robot deployments at customer sites as required
• Redesign robotic systems for volume manufacturing, focusing on reliability and cost optimization
