Job summary

Sora Resource Group has partnered with a Milwaukee area client to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and improving factory processes as the link between design engineering and production.

You will drive the introduction of new products, optimize line balance, PFMEA, and line efficiency, while advancing Lean/CI, safety, and cost reduction in a large assembly operation.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering required; master's preferred.
• 5–12 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a large assembly operation.
• Proficient with 2D & 3D CAD (Siemens NX), Word, Excel, and Access.
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma.
• 3D printing experience would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, support and lead introduction of products to the manufacturing floor, improving balance and line efficiency.
• Lead setup of assembly lines and document processes from design hand-off to completion.
• Develop Operation Method Sheets for optimal assembly.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and CI to reduce waste.
• Troubleshoot production line problems.
• Lead ISO compliance initiatives and cost reduction efforts.
• Drive line/cell layout, tooling and part flow improvements.
• Justify capital equipment investments.
• Advance safety and ergonomic practices.

As the link between design engineering and the production floor you provide the manufacturing expertise needed to implement the production of new products as well as processing changes to existing products. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

What you will be doing:

• Plan, support, and lead introduction of products to the manufacturing floor. Manages the integration of new products into existing lines with an understanding of new processes that affect online balance, pFMEA, and line efficiency.
• Take the lead on setup assembly line, establish processes and documentation bring mobile equipment products from design hand-off to completion
• Lead the development of Operation Method Sheets (i.e. how best to assemble products)
• Uses advanced understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts needed for reduction of waste within manufacturing processes
• Troubleshoot production line problems
• Lead initiatives that mitigate risk, maintain ISO compliance, and reduce costs
• Lead design initiatives within the manufacturing process, including line / cell layout, tooling and part flow
• Capital equipment justification
• Work to advance safety and ergonomic practices

What they are looking for

• BS Engineering, a master's would be great
• 5 to 12 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in a large assembly operation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with multiple projects at one time
• Proficient computer skills including 2D & 3D CAD (Siemens NX would be great), Word, Excel, and Access
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma
• 3D Printing experience would be a plus
