Job summary

MJ Recruiters seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to lead setup assemblies, translate design hand‑offs into production, and drive new product introductions on the Milwaukee production floor.

You will optimize line balance, PFMEA, and safety while applying lean principles to reduce waste, improve quality, and lower costs. ISO compliance and capital equipment justification fall under your remit.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5–12 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a large assembly operation.
• Proficient CAD skills (Pro-E/Creo); strong Excel, Word, and Access.
• Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience taking assembly lines from concept to production.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead on setup of the assembly line and establish processes and documentation.
• Bring mobile equipment products from design hand-off to production completion.
• Plan, support, and lead introduction of products to the manufacturing floor; manage integration with line balance, PFMEA, and efficiency.
• Lead the development of operation method standards for assembling products.
• Apply Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement to reduce waste in processes.
• Troubleshoot production line problems and lead risk mitigation initiatives for ISO compliance and cost reduction.
• Lead design initiatives within the manufacturing process including line/cell layout, tooling, and part flow.
• Justify capital equipment requirements and investments.
• Advance safety and ergonomic practices on the floor.

This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

What you will be doing:

• Take the lead on setup assembly line, establish processes and documentation
• Bring mobile equipment products from design hand-off to completion
• Plan, support, and lead introduction of products to the manufacturing floor. Manages the integration of new products into existing lines with an understanding of new processes that affect online balance, pFMEA, and line efficiency.
• Lead the development of Operation Method Standards (i.e. how best to assemble products)
• Uses advanced understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts needed for reduction of waste within manufacturing processes
• Troubleshoot production line problems
• Lead initiatives that mitigate risk, maintain ISO compliance, and reduce costs
• Lead design initiatives within the manufacturing process, including line / cell layout, tooling and part flow
• Capital equipment justification
• Work to advance safety and ergonomic practices

What they are looking for

• BS Engineering, a Master's would be great
• 5 to 12 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in a large assembly operation
• Proficient computer skills including CAD (Pro‑E / Creo would be great), Word, Excel, and Access
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma
• Ideally, prior experience establishing in assembly line from concept into production
