Job summary

United Future, Milwaukee area, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, implement, and improve factory processes. You will bridge design engineering and the production floor, maintaining capability, improving quality, reducing costs, and increasing throughput.

Requirements include a BS in Engineering (MS preferred), 5–12 years in large‑assembly manufacturing, and CAD proficiency (Pro/E/Creo). Strong Lean/Six Sigma and experience taking concepts to production are expected.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering, Master's would be great
• 5 to 12 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in a large assembly operation
• Proficient CAD skills including Pro‑E/Creo
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma
• Ideally, prior experience establishing in assembly line from concept into production

Responsibilities

• Lead setup of the assembly line, establish processes and documentation
• Bring mobile equipment products from design hand-off to production
• Plan and lead introduction of products to the manufacturing floor; integrate new products into lines
• Develop Operation Method Standards for best assembly practices
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement to reduce waste
• Troubleshoot production line problems
• Drive initiatives to mitigate risk, ISO compliance, and cost reduction
• Lead design initiatives in line layout, tooling and part flow
• Justify capital equipment
• Advance safety and ergonomic practices

As the link between design engineering and the production floor you provide the manufacturing expertise needed to implement the production of new products as well as processing changes to existing products. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

What you will be doing:

• Take the lead on setup assembly line, establish processes and documentation
• Bring mobile equipment products from design hand-off to completion
• Plan, support, and lead introduction of products to the manufacturing floor. Manages the integration of new products into existing lines with an understanding of new processes that affect online balance, pFMEA, and line efficiency.
• Lead the development of Operation Method Standards (i.e. how best to assemble products)
• Uses advanced understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts needed for reduction of waste within manufacturing processes
• Troubleshoot production line problems
• Lead initiatives that mitigate risk, maintain ISO compliance, and reduce costs
• Lead design initiatives within the manufacturing process, including line / cell layout, tooling and part flow
• Capital equipment justification
• Work to advance safety and ergonomic practices

What they are looking for
