Job summary

Nefab Plastic Solutions Irving is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Accountant to lead financial reporting, month-end close, and cost/inventory accounting. You will collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Corporate Finance to drive accurate reporting and informed decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 5–8 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, QuickBooks, and advanced Excel.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and lead the month-end close process.
  • Oversee cost accounting and inventory accounting, including variance analysis and cycle counts.
  • Maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze capital expenditure proposals and provide financial insights to support site investments.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and KPI reporting for site management.
  • Coordinate external audits and support operations on inventory records.
  • Spend 2-3 days on the production floor to understand site activities.

Sr. Manufacturing Accountant, Nefab, Plastic Solutions, Irving

Our Finance organization plays a key role in delivering accurate reporting, strong cost control, reliable inventory accounting, and valuable financial insights. We are strengthening our team at Nefab Plastic Solutions Irving with a Sr. Manufacturing Accountant.

In this role, you will support financial reporting, month-end close, cost and inventory accounting, internal controls, and financial analysis. You will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Plant Leadership, and Corporate Finance to support accurate reporting and sound business decisions.

This position is based in Irving, Texas, and reports to Chelsea Craiker.

Main Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Cost & Inventory Accounting: Oversee cost accounting and inventory accounting processes, including manufacturing cost tracking, variance analysis, inventory valuation, reconciliations, and cycle count review.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; identify control weaknesses and implement corrective actions.
  • Capital Expenditure Analysis: Analyze capital expenditure proposals and provide financial insights and recommendations to support investment decisions for the manufacturing site.
  • Financial Analysis & KPI Reporting: Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to support site management decisions and identify KPIs and metrics to measure site performance.
  • Audit Support & Operations Partnership: Coordinate external audits and provide required documentation and responses to auditor inquiries; partner with Operations to ensure accurate inventory records and effective controls.
  • Production Floor Presence: Regularly spend time on the production floor 2-3 times per week to gain hands-on understanding of site activities, support accurate financial reporting.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.

Experience

  • 5–8 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in cost accounting and inventory management.
  • Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and QuickBooks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position may require standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Physical duties may also include stooping, kneeling, gripping, pushing and pulling, speaking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
