At Owl's Brew, we craft clean (sometimes boozy!) beverages. Our line of hard teas, hard lemonades & NA mixers are fresh-brewed and made with only good, whole ingredients. Owl’s Brew can be found at Whole Foods, Total Wine, Trader Joe’s, Yankees Stadium, & Hard Rock Stadium among others. Applicants ideally reside in the tri-state area (CT, NYC, NJ).

Job Description

This position is responsible for building, optimizing, and scaling all manufacturing and product operations for the company, including forecasting, supply chain, production processes, QA/QC, and logistics. Areas of oversight include but are not limited to management of brewery partners and production, sourcing of brewery partners, supply chain management, forecasting and optimization, inventory management & order fulfillment, lab collaboration, QA process development, and execution.

This role works closely with the Finance team and will have one direct report (Logistics Manager). Successful candidates will have experience in analytical and managerial roles, with a proven track record of meeting goals and developing scalable operational systems. Ideal candidates have operations experience in CPG, Beer, or Spirits companies, as well as startup experience.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop a roadmap to improve COGS and implement the plan.
  2. Oversee, manage, and create QA/QC processes.
  3. Manage all co-manufacturing facilities.
  4. Plan and forecast to ensure product availability.
  5. Monitor key metrics and KPIs related to operational excellence.
  6. Manage procurement and production processes.
  7. Review and manage packaging areas as needed.
  8. Analyze and oversee margin drivers including manufacturing, raw materials, and costs.
  9. Collaborate with the finance team for accurate reporting, forecasting, and analysis.
  10. Optimize supply chain and forecast needs.
  11. Oversee monthly inventory transaction reporting for financial purposes.
  12. Ensure timely and accurate deliveries and shipments.
  13. Contribute to cash flow management.
  14. Manage regulatory compliance across operations.
  15. Lead special projects such as creating new SKUs and certifications (e.g., non-GMO).
  16. Work with the Sales team to ensure accurate forecasting and product planning.

Requirements:

  • At least 6 years of leading operations in regulated or QA/QC-intensive industries.
  • Start-up experience is required.
  • Experience in team building and hiring.
  • Experience in F&B or CPG industries (beer, liquor, wine) in operations, transportation, warehousing, sourcing, distribution, inventory, yield improvement, and compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and resources.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
