Responsible for assisting with local regulatory, franchising and public policy matters for assigned geographic area at the state, region, or division level Implements legislative strategies, monitors legislation. Develops financial and operational objectives. Ensures operational and government affairs plans are aligned with business objectives. Contributes to functional strategy development. Has a greater degree of impact on business results, and typically manages one or more groups of professional employees.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains relationships with government representatives and regulators at the state and local level. Travels to attend meetings, hearings, or other events to represent the company.
  • Manages franchise renewal and transfer efforts for assigned franchises consistent with the strategies and policies for the market area at the state, region, or division level.
  • Prepares franchise renewal applications and supporting data for renewal negotiations.
  • Assists in preparation of renewal strategy and participates in franchise renewal negotiations with municipalities and/or their consultants.
  • Supports the government relations and public policy strategy as developed for the market.
  • Identifies important municipal issues of significance to the company.
  • Drafts, analyzes and/or presents legislation, amendments and testimony as necessary.
  • Partners closely with Marketing, Business Development, Engineering\Construction, Comcast Business, Care and other departments to ensure alignment of strategies and initiatives for maximum benefit.
  • Collaborate with regional Government Affairs/Communications and Community Impact to support business growth and key community initiatives.
  • Continually evaluates competitive market conditions with goal of ensuring competitive neutrality, with a focus on government subsidized competition. Provides competitive intelligence to the Marketing and Finance teams.
  • Reviews, interprets and communicates meanings of the terms and conditions of franchises, franchise-related agreements and other contracts for implementation to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Manages service complaints associated with complimentary services.
  • Oversees additional duties related to community affairs.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
