Job summary

Central Transport LLC is seeking a capable supervisor to oversee outbound terminal operations, manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock staff, and ensure on-time performance. The role requires leadership, attention to safety, and a strong grasp of technology to optimize loads and workflows.

You will be responsible for coordinating loading, dock traffic, and quality control while maintaining compliance with DOT/OSHA standards. A background in transportation or cross-docking is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a transportation or shipping environment, preferably within the LTL industry.
• Strong leadership and customer service focus.
• High aptitude for technology and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outbound operations for the designated section of the terminal dock, including loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight sortation.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet the production schedule.
• Use independent judgment to build loads based on labor availability and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and trailer weight.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers, dock workers and dock hands.
• Monitor dock production and KPI goals, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Oversee hours, overtime, and a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.

LOCATION: 3610 52nd Ave Sacramento, CA 95823 Shifts: 2:00AM-12:00PM, Tuesday-Saturday Salary: $60,000-$75,000 + Bonus

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Familiar with customs and cross-border transportation
• Strong leadership qualities
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An associate or bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee outbound operations for your designated section of the terminal dock This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Utilizing your independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
