Job summary

Central Transport LLC in Chicago Ridge, IL, is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee outbound activities in a 250-door facility. You will lead the loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight sorting to meet daily production goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outbound operations for a 250-door facility, including loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight sorting.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet a designated production schedule.
• Utilize independent judgement to build loads based on labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring KPI goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers.

Shift: 2:00am - 12:00pm, Tues - Sat (1st Shift)

Salary: Up to $75,000 + quarterly bonus (10%)

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Familiar with customs and cross-border transportation

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee outbound operations within a 250-door freight facility for your designated section of the dock. This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Utilizing your independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers.
