Responsibilities

• Utilize independent judgment to build loads based on available labor and freight.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and trailer weight.
• Provide leadership to drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production to meet/exceed KPI goals.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment per DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in service to customers.

Ideal Candidate Requirements

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Familiar with customs and cross-border transportation

Duties

• Oversee outbound operations within a 50-door freight facility for your designated section of the dock. This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 20 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Utilizing your independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
