Job summary

FinOps Weekly is seeking a Sr Financial Analyst – Cloud to lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and reporting for cloud costs. The role partners with Cloud FinOps, IT, Product, and Finance to provide timely insights.

You will build scalable models, explain risks to senior leadership, and support month-end close while turning data into clear business recommendations across the enterprise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years in Finance, Financial Analytics, Tech Finance, FinOps, or similar role.
  • Familiarity with cloud billing and usage-based cost models.
  • Experience with GCP and FinOps.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with complex data pipelines.
  • Experience with Google BigQuery.
  • Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling.
  • Experience with Tableau or similar BI tools.
  • Experience supporting month-end close (accruals, reclasses, chargebacks).
  • Ability to turn large datasets into clear, actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly reporting for cloud costs.
  • Build financial models and explain trends and risks to senior leaders.
  • Support month-end close for cloud cost accounting.
  • Present financial analysis for business leaders in visuals and narrative.
  • Translate analysis into actionable recommendations for operations and finance.
  • Partner with VP-level stakeholders to align inputs and outputs.
  • Perform project-based analysis for investment initiatives and scenarios.

The role works closely with the Cloud FinOps team and partners across IT, Business, Product, and Finance to deliver timely financial insight that supports cloud investment decisions across the enterprise.This is a highly analytical position focused on complex datasets, scalable models, and open-ended problem solving.
