The manager serves as the link between finance and engineering, translating usage and cost data into actions that improve value.The role manages and directs the FinOps team, including Senior Business Analysts, and works closely with engineering, operations, finance, and IT Finance. It also supports review of Cloud, AI, and API requests in Ivanti through project portfolio and off-cycle processes.The primary objective is to improve cost predictability through analysis, planning, reporting, governance, and process improvement. The role also includes developing staff, strengthening internal and external workflows, and building cost awareness across the organization.## Key Responsibilities – Lead cloud cost analysis to identify savings opportunities and control spend. – Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models for cloud usage. – Track spending against budgets and report trends, anomalies, and actual costs. – Implement optimization measures such as rightsizing, commitment-based discounts, idle resource termination, and ROI tracking for technical projects. – Manage cost allocation, chargeback, and tagging strategies to attribute spend accurately. – Partner with engineering, operations, finance, and cloud service providers on billing, contracts, service levels, and cost-related architecture decisions. – Prepare reports, dashboards, and stakeholder communications with optimization recommendations. – Drive FinOps adoption, policy enforcement, training, and continuous improvement. – Oversee day-to-day work for FinOps Senior Business Analysts, including priorities, accountability, workload management, and career development. – Review approved Cloud, AI, and API requests with the IT Finance team in Ivanti during project portfolio and off-cycle reviews. – Improve internal and external processes for efficiency and ease of use.## Required Skills – Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, computer science, or a related field, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination. – 7+ years of experience in financial analysis, 5+ years in cloud operations, or a related role. – At least 3 years in a management role overseeing teams or a cloud/IT financial management program. – Superior written and verbal communication skills. – Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. – Strong customer service and problem-solving skills. – Working knowledge of accrual-basis accounting. – Financial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis. – Technical aptitude with cloud infrastructure and services. – Strong data analysis skills. – Experience with cloud cost management tools and platforms. – Proven experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP billing and cost management tools. – Familiarity with SQL and BI visualizations. – Strong attention to detail and accuracy. – Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. – Self-motivated, proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement. – Ability to balance speed, quality, and cost-effectiveness. – Proven track record of successfully managing and optimizing cloud costs.## Preferred Skills – FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certification.## Cloud Platforms & Technologies – \*\*Cloud Providers:\*\* AWS, Azure, GCP – \*\*FinOps / Cost Management Tools:\*\* AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, CloudHealth, Apptio Cloudability, Flexera – \*\*Programming Languages / Querying:\*\* SQL – \*\*Reporting & BI:\*\* BI platforms – \*\*Workflow / Collaboration:\*\* IvantiManagement## FinOps Responsibilities – Analyze cloud usage and spending to identify savings opportunities. – Manage cloud cost optimization through rightsizing, commitment-based discounts, and idle resource reduction. – Build forecasts and financial models to support predictable spend. – Handle cost allocation, chargeback, and tagging for accurate attribution. – Produce reports and dashboards on spend trends, anomalies, and optimization outcomes. – Evaluate the cost impact of technical and architecture decisions. – Support cloud billing, pricing, and contract discussions with providers. – Promote FinOps practices, governance, training, and a data-first approach. – Monitor spend anomalies, recommend best practices, and support workflow automation.## Benefits – Comprehensive benefits and wellness package. – Financial security benefits. – Generous time-off program. – Employee resource groups for peer support. – Holistic wellness program covering physical, mental, nutritional, sleep, social, financial, and preventive care. – Annual salary range: $101,493.51–$152,437.74. – Actual salary depends on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need; the range excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and other forms of compensation or benefits.## Why You Might Be Interested This role offers a broad FinOps scope across cloud cost analysis, forecasting, allocation, reporting, and governance.
