Job summary

FinOps Weekly is seeking a Senior Director of Cloud FinOps to define and run the financial management strategy for its public cloud. This role owns forecasting, budgeting, cost allocation, and unit economics, and collaborates with Finance, Engineering, Product, and Operations to control cloud spend while enabling growth.

You will build dashboards, lead cost reviews, drive cost optimization, and develop the FinOps team, delivering executive reporting on spend trends, savings, and risk.

Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of cloud financial management experience in SaaS or large enterprises.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role across Finance, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP pricing and billing models.
  • Proven experience building and maturing a FinOps practice.
  • Strong financial modelling and forecasting skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the cloud financial management framework across the SaaS platform.
  • Lead forecasting, budgeting, cost allocation, and unit economics.
  • Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives, including reserved commitments, rightsizing, and tagging.
  • Partner with Engineering, CloudOps, and Product to build cost visibility into operational decisions.
  • Produce executive- and board-level reporting on spend trends, savings progress, and risk.
  • Establish governance, controls, tagging standards, and approval workflows for cloud cost management.
  • Lead and develop FinOps analysts and engineers.
  • Work with Finance and FP&A to ensure cloud costs are reflected accurately in planning and pricing.
