FinOps Weekly in St. Louis is seeking a Senior FinOps Specialist to lead cloud financial management across a multi-cloud and SaaS environment. You will partner with technology, finance, and governance teams to improve cost visibility, budgeting, and value realization from cloud investments.

The role emphasizes building frameworks, governance, and executive reporting while driving cost optimization through rightsizing, reservations, and spending controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, IT, business, or CS.
• 5+ years of cloud financial management, IT finance, or related discipline with progressive responsibility.
• 2+ years hands-on cloud cost management in multi-cloud and SaaS environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead FinOps strategy and operating models across AWS, Azure, and other cloud platforms.
• Partner with engineering, finance, and governance teams to embed cost accountability.
• Build and maintain cost governance frameworks, tagging policies, and spend controls.
• Develop showback, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis capabilities.
• Identify and drive cloud cost optimization opportunities, including rightsizing and reserved capacity strategies.
• Support cost awareness in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code standards.
• Produce executive dashboards, cost reports, and KPI reporting for leadership.

The role exists to strengthen FinOps practices that improve accountability, transparency, and efficient use of cloud resources while keeping spend aligned with regulatory and compliance requirements.You will work closely with technology, finance, IT Governance, and business stakeholders to build the frameworks, reporting, and operating models needed for effective cloud financial management.
