Summary of the Job:

FNTS, with over 20 years in managed IT services, operates a state-of-the-art data center providing customized managed services. We are seeking a Mainframe Senior Engineer to maintain and support customer Mainframe environments, including planning migrations, system expansions, backups, and troubleshooting. Candidates should have experience with z Series systems, Virtual Tape, and related networking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform reporting and support incident resolution
• Install, maintain, and configure ISV products
• Assist with hardware upgrades and configuration
• Support migration projects with minimal impact
• Maintain system documentation
• Implement new technologies and software releases
• Participate in infrastructure projects as the Mainframe SME
• Provide after-hours support as needed

The Ideal Candidate:

Qualifications:

• Experience as a Mainframe Systems Engineer
• Knowledge of z/OS and associated subsystems (JES2, WLM, RACF, etc.)
• Experience with CICS, IMS, DB2, MQ Series
• Support functions and network concepts (VTAM, TCP/IP)
• Storage management and hardware familiarity
• Experience with OS upgrades, automation, and monitoring tools
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

Additional qualifications include experience with z/VSE, z/VM, hardware like DS8000, TS7700, virtual tape systems, and mirroring technologies.

Compensation: Range from $88,067 to $145,309, with specific starting pay depending on experience.
