The Mainframe Senior Engineer maintains customer environments, resolves technical issues, and supports system migrations and upgrades. Candidates should have experience with z Series systems, Virtual Tape, and networking related to Mainframe connectivity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform reporting functions as required
2. Support cases and incidents
3. Install, maintain, and configure ISV products
4. Assist with hardware upgrades
5. Support environment migrations
6. Document systems
7. Assist with customer migrations to FNTS or remote management
8. Implement new technologies
9. Manage software releases and system templates
10. Participate in infrastructure projects as Mainframe SME
11. Provide after-hours support as needed

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

Job Qualifications

• Mainframe Systems Engineer experience
• Knowledge of z/OS, SDSF, TSO, HCD/IODF, SMP/E
• Experience with JES2, WLM, OMVS/USS, SMF/RMF, RACF, ASM, GRS
• Experience with CICS, IMS, DB2, Datacom, MQ Series
• Support functions for DBA and applications
• Networking concepts: VTAM, TCP/IP
• Storage management: SMS, HSM, DFDSS, VSAM, IDCAMS, ICF Catalogs
• Hardware knowledge of z systems
• Configuring LPARs with HMC
• Storage in JBOD, RAID, SAN environments
• Printer configuration troubleshooting
• Virtual tape library setup
• OS upgrades, PTF deployment, software installation
• Automation and monitoring tools deployment
• Self-motivated, independent worker
• Excellent communication skills

Additional Qualifications include z/VSE, z/VM concepts, hardware familiarity (DS8000, TS7700, tape systems), and mirroring technologies.

Compensation: $88,067.00 - $145,309.00, with specific starting pay depending on experience.
