About This Role

The Mainframe Senior Engineer is part of a managed services engineering team. Responsibilities include maintaining customer environments, solving technical problems, planning and migrating systems, and supporting Mainframe technology such as z Series systems, Virtual Tape, and networking.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform reporting functions as required
• Support cases and incidents escalated beyond operations
• Install, maintain, and configure ISV products
• Assist with hardware configuration and upgrades
• Participate in migration projects with minimal impact
• Maintain system documentation
• Support customer migrations to FNTS or remote management
• Implement new technologies and software releases
• Maintain system templates and participate in infrastructure projects
• Provide after-hours and weekend support as needed

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications:

• Experience as a Mainframe Systems Engineer
• Knowledge of z/OS, JES2, WLM, RACF, CICS, IMS, DB2, MQ Series, and related technologies
• Experience with hardware, storage, and networking in Mainframe environments
• Skills in OS upgrades, automation, and troubleshooting
• Excellent communication skills

Additional Qualifications: z/VSE, z/VM, hardware familiarity (DS8000, TS7700), virtual tape systems, Flashcopy, mirroring technologies.

Compensation

Range: $88,067 - $145,309. Final offer depends on experience, education, and skills.
