Job Overview: Electrical Engineer working 100% remotely. The Electrical Engineer will lead the development of new Camera and Cellular IoT devices for consumer and private outdoor applications. A top candidate will lead Electrical design, testing, and interface with manufacturing and 3rd party ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) partners. Our client is a rapidly growing company with a loyal customer base and expanding product offerings.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain electrical hardware design(s).
2. Collaborate with the cross functional development team to accomplish project deliverables.
3. Electrical circuit design, circuit simulation, and layout with Altium Designer.
4. Perform schematic and PCB Layout review of team member designs.
5. Manage and develop BOMs with emphasis on High Volume, Low Cost designs.
6. Develop, document, and validate electrical designs which meet functional, quality, reliability, manufacturability, and safety requirements.
7. Resolve and track technical issues in Altium A365 and project management tools (JIRA).
8. Review and qualify alternative electrical parts during engineering validation and development stages and support sustaining engineering in qualifying alternative parts after production release.
9. Work cross-functionally to ensure electrical design meets EMC compliance requirements.
10. Self-motivated and proactive in finding solutions to existing and new challenges.

Preferred Skills:

1. MS or BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 15+ years of experience in electrical design with consumer or commercial products, or similar.
2. Experience in designing electrical systems with microcontrollers, SOCs, memory devices, power systems, high speed transceivers, LTE/WiFi/BT/GPS devices, and various serial interfaces such as I2C, I2S, SPI, UART, USB, MIPI, SDI and SLVS-EC signals.
3. Familiar with EMC Compliance standards and certification process (CE EMC, FCC).
4. Proficient in Altium and Altium 365 Platform.
5. Proven ability in independently analyzing root cause, complex design debugging, and problem solving with minimal guidance.

Desired Skills (Candidate must have several of the following skills):

1. Experience with standards related to IoT industry, such as Cellular LTE and Wi-Fi.
2. Experience with camera module hardware design and/or raw imager integration.
3. Experience evaluating, testing, and qualifying PIR sensors and lens for occupancy detection.
4. Experience designing High Speed Digital interfaces.
5. Experience working with RF circuit design, RF layout, antenna integration, and RF testing.
6. Experience performing and/or overseeing advanced PCB Layout.
7. Experience with Switch Mode Power Supply design and test.
8. Experience with Spice circuit simulators, TinaTI, LTSpice, MultiSIM, etc.
9. Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, MicroPython, or LabVIEW.
10. Experience with Power and Signal Integrity Analysis.
11. Experience performing circuit margin analysis on Digital, Analog, and Power circuits.
12. Experience designing PCBAs for high-volume and lowest cost BOM.
13. Experience with USB-C Power Delivery.
14. Experience with Battery Management, Charging, Fuel Gauging, and Solar Panel Integration.
15. Mixed Signal circuit design with knowledge of optimal grounding schemes and return paths.
16. Hands-on experience rapidly prototyping PCBAs.
