Job summary

Central Transport is hiring for a leadership role at our Peoria-area facility. You will oversee operations in a fast-paced LTL environment, coordinate drivers with vendors and terminal managers, and help drive service excellence.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership, excellent communication, and a solid grasp of technology to optimize routes, monitor KPIs, and maintain safety standards in compliance with DOT/OSHA guidelines. A related degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Relaying critical information between drivers and vendors/terminal managers.
• Review and revise driver routes to increase efficiency and manage workload.
• Monitor freight in transit and report issues faced by drivers.
• Help ensure KPI goals are met and maintain a safe work environment per DOT/OSHA.

LOCATION: 5411 N Galena Road, Peoria Heights, IL 61616

Shift: 8am - 6pm, Monday - Friday

Salary: $60,000-$75,000 + 10% quarterly bonus potential

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Strong leadership qualities
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An Associates or Bachelor's Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Relaying critical information between drivers and our vendors/Terminal Managers
• Review and revise driver routes to increase efficiencies while monitoring a changing workload
• Being aware of freight that is in transit
• Assist and report issues that drivers face when they're on the road (i.e. flat tire)
• Ensure facility Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals are met and/or exceeded
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards
• Provide / support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
