Job summary

Central Transport in Williamsport, PA seeks an Operations Supervisor to lead nighttime dock operations, oversee unloading, forklift traffic, and the picking/sortation of palletized freight.

You will supervise up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock staff to hit production goals, monitor overtime, ensure DOT/OSHA safety, and maintain high service levels for our nationwide network.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nighttime dock operations for the designated section of the terminal.
• Manage unloading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight sorting.
• Supervise up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
• Use independent judgment to build loads based on labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper trailer loading by monitoring cube and weight.
• Provide leadership to drivers and dock staff, monitor KPI goals.
• Monitor hours and overtime and maintain safety per DOT/OSHA standards.

Salary ranges from:

$60,000 - $75,000 + up to 10% in bonuses

Shift time:

Monday-Friday: 10:00PM-8:00AM

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Strong leadership qualities
• Desire to surround our customers with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee nighttime operations for your designated section of the terminal dock
• This includes the process of unloading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Utilizing your independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
