Job summary

Central Transport is seeking a Terminal Operations Supervisor in Cincinnati to oversee dock activities and load management, directing up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock staff to meet production goals.

The role requires experience in transportation/shipping, strong leadership, customer service focus, and excellent communication. A degree is preferred but not required; high tech aptitude is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations for your designated section of the terminal dock.
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Utilize independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and weight of trailers.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hands.
• Monitor dock production and ensure KPI goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime and maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.

Shift:

5:30pm - 3:30am, Monday - Friday

Salary:

$60,000-$75,000 + up to 10% in bonuses

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Strong leadership qualities
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
