Job summary

Central Transport in Chicago Ridge, IL is seeking a dispatch lead to manage 40+ LTL drivers, optimize routes, and coordinate with vendors and terminal managers.

Ideal candidates will have transportation experience, strong leadership, a high aptitude for technology, and excellent communication. An Associates or Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry).
• Strong leadership qualities.
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service.
• High aptitude for technology.
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Dispatching a team of 40+ LTL based CDL truck drivers across city pickup/delivery and linehaul/OTR divisions.
• Relaying critical information between drivers and our vendors/Terminal Managers.
• Review and revise driver routes to increase efficiencies while monitoring a changing workload.
• Being aware of freight that is in transit.
• Assist and report issues that drivers face when they’re on the road (i.e. flat tire).
• Ensure facility KPI goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Provide / support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers.

Shift: 1:00pm - 11:00pm, Monday - Friday

Salary: Up to $78,000 + quarterly bonus
