Job summary

Central Transport LLC in Stoughton, MA is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee dock operations, load planning, and driver coordination. This role requires strong leadership and a proven background in transportation or cross-docking environments.

You will manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel, ensure safety, monitor KPIs, and maintain compliance with DOT/OSHA standards. A 2-shift schedule is available, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry).
• Strong leadership qualities and ability to develop a culture of service excellence.
• High aptitude for technology and ability to use operating systems.
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented and maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations for designated terminal dock area including unloading, forklift traffic, and proper palletized freight sortation.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
• Use independent judgment to build loads based on labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and trailer weight.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers, dock workers, and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production and KPI achievement; monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.

Salary ranges from: $60,000 - $75,000 + up to 10% in bonuses. 2 Shift times available: Monday-Friday: 10:00AM-8:00PM

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry)
• Strong leadership qualities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee operations for your designated section of the terminal dock This includes the process of unloading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Utilizing your independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers.
