Job Summary
The Senior Concept Artist will create compelling concepts and polished in‑game art for our cellular recreation titles. They may paint as part of the creative group responsible for crafting in‑recreation property for current and new titles. The artist works closely with both internal and external teams to create character and environment artwork.
Responsibilities
- Illustrate and compose effective artwork in accordance with IP‑specific brand and in‑recreation style pointers.
- Create custom illustrated player‑facing key art that accomplishes the vision and level goals of the product.
- Play a key role in defining the look and sense of the brand with a clear visual identity that aligns with product goals and informs the story.
- Ensure campaigns and property visually seize the marketability of the game’s design.
- Generate new and unique ideas, and render 2D illustrations.
- Produce storyboards to communicate ideas and offer direction to the broader crew.
- Illustrate concept artwork that could guide outsourcing for assets and environments.
- Illustrate iconography to support motion‑graphics efforts.
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders on the game product group and IP stakeholders to maintain visual identity consistency.
- Lead by example, cultivating a robust network and a culture of excellence.
- Demonstrate reliability, duty, and professionalism in all interactions.
Competencies & Capabilities
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Capacity for creating varied promotional assets.
- Professional digital painting skills for advertising and participant‑facing polish.
- Ability to manage multiple, competing responsibilities in a fast‑changing environment.
- Strong verbal, collaborative, and management skills.
- Team‑centric focus with a track record of positive feedback.
- Potential to mentor and inspire fellow artists in the discipline.
- Knowledge of motion‑design tools such as After Effects or Spine is a plus.
Qualifications & Experience
- Four (4) years of experience with a gaming or related creative studio.
- Experience documenting processes.
- Deep knowledge of composition and color principles.
- Expertise in visual/stylesheet characteristics across art, movie, and games.
- Strong knowledge of visual branding and IP for marketing campaigns.
- Versatility across advertising media, including social media, posters, and film.
Work Hours
Core hours are 10:00AM to 6:00PM CST. Availability for meetings during this window is required. Occasional extended hours may be necessary to meet deadlines.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $20–30 per hour. The overall salary range for this role is approximately $50,000 to $250,000 annually, reflecting the full compensation philosophy.
