Job Responsibilities

• Lead UI design, asset creation, and in-engine implementation for a relaxed, multi-platform MMO.
• Support the UI direction by creating high‑quality, stylized UI assets that complement the appearance of in‑game 3‑D property.
• Collaborate with art direction and level design teams to enhance visual quality and usability while abiding by layout constraints.
• Maintain and improve a pipeline for authoring stylized UI assets that match the in‑game 3‑D environment.
• Combine UI assets into UMG widgets and use Blueprint to create and preserve standardized components.
• Communicate regularly with teammates (Slack, Google Meet, email) to discuss progress and status.

Requirements

• Experience structuring UI in UMG and creating widget Blueprints using the latest versions of Unreal Engine.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong UI design skills and secondary asset creation.
• Deep understanding of game mechanics and player motivations, and how UI design supports them.
• Knowledge of the interaction between design decisions and code, and awareness of performance and timeline implications.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical details to both programmers and non‑technical colleagues.

High‑Quality to Have

• Experience shipping UI in Unreal, especially on mobile platforms.
• Interest in mobile game design and statement of relevance.
• Secondary specialties in VFX, 3‑D art, concept art, or C++ preferred.
