Job summary

Elevate Digital is seeking a senior backend engineer with 7+ years of experience in PHP and Magento 2 to lead the backend for our ecommerce stack. You will build and extend Magento APIs, GraphQL resolvers, modules, and services, while ensuring scalable performance and robust integrations with catalog, pricing, inventory, promotions, ERP, and OMS systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend development with PHP and Magento 2 expertise.
• Experience building Magento APIs, GraphQL resolvers, modules, services, plugins, observers, cron jobs, and message-queue consumers.
• Strong experience building REST/GraphQL APIs and service layers that decouple frontend apps from Magento and other backends.
• Experience integrating with catalog, pricing, inventory, promotions, customer/identity, PIM, ERP, and OMS platforms.
• Event-driven architecture with messaging systems like RabbitMQ.
• Experience with AWS/cloud-native services, caching, databases, queues, observability, and distributed-system troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of Magento performance, including indexing, database load, caching, and high-volume workloads.
• Ability to map new commerce services into existing Magento GraphQL/API contracts during migration.
• Strong automated testing, CI/CD, code-review, debugging, and production-support experience.
• Comfortable as a senior hands-on technical lead mentoring engineers and partnering with the Architect.

• 7+ years of backend development experience with strong PHP and Adobe Commerce/Magento 2 expertise.
• Deep experience building and extending Magento APIs, GraphQL resolvers, modules, services, plugins, observers, cron jobs, and message-queue consumers.
• Strong experience building REST/GraphQL APIs and service layers that decouple frontend applications from Magento and other backend systems.
• Experience integrating with catalog, pricing, inventory, promotions, customer/identity, PIM, ERP, and OMS platforms.
• Strong event-driven architecture / messaging experience, preferably RabbitMQ or similar asynchronous messaging platforms.
• Experience with AWS/cloud-native services, caching, databases, queues, observability, and distributed-system troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of Magento performance, including indexing, database load, caching, asynchronous processing, and high-volume catalog/order workloads.
• Ability to build middleware/adapters that can map new commerce services into existing Magento GraphQL/API contracts during a phased migration.
• Strong automated testing, CI/CD, code-review, debugging, and production-support experience.
• Comfortable serving as a senior hands-on technical lead, mentoring engineers and partnering closely with the Architect on implementation decisions.
