Job description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Magento 2 / PHP and a strong background in MySQL, extensive experience with extensions. As a Senior Software Engineer at AMS, you will be responsible for backend development, integrating complex data profiles, and optimizing our e-commerce solutions to deliver outstanding customer experiences.

Responsibilities:

1. Build and enhance robust e-commerce solutions using Magento 2, ensuring high performance and scalability.
2. Lead backend development using PHP and work on database management with MySQL.
3. Troubleshoot production issues and come up with solutions as needed.
4. Actively review code, mentor, and provide peer feedback.
5. Active participation in team ceremonies such as daily standups, retrospectives, and sprint planning.
6. Enhance and maintain the RapidFlow extension along with the custom-coded Data Management Tool to support data flows from external systems and enable transformations within the Magento platform.
7. Customize, extend, and maintain Magento 2 extensions as needed to enhance functionality and support third-party integrations.
8. Work with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages as needed to support data operations.
9. Mentor junior developers and act as a point of technical guidance for the team.
10. Communicate effectively across teams to ensure clarity, alignment, and delivery on project goals.
11. Embrace new tools, methods, and best practices to continuously improve and evolve with the industry.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. 7+ years of experience as a Magento Developer, with a strong focus on backend development, Magento 2 architecture, customizations, and best practices.
3. Working knowledge of Magento extensions and experience in customizing and maintaining them.
4. Basic understanding of SSIS packages.
5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
6. Strong problem-solving abilities and an eagerness to learn and implement new technologies.
7. Proven experience as a collaborative team player with the ability to lead and mentor junior developers.
