Job summary

Glorium Technologies is seeking a senior backend engineer to own a live production Magento-based e-commerce platform. You will drive a 2.x → 2.4.x upgrade, design ERP data sync to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central via REST/webhooks, and audit legacy code.

You’ll ensure pricing, tiers and catalog pages remain robust during a vendor transition. The role emphasizes deep backend ownership, architecture autonomy, and hands-on work with on-prem infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Over 4 years in Magento 2.x backend development with production upgrade experience.
• Experience designing REST/webhook integrations with ERP platforms, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Strong PHP and MySQL expertise and Magento internals understanding.
• Experience with on-prem infrastructure setup; no reliance on cloud-only approaches.
• Active adoption of agentic AI tools to drive refactoring and documentation.
• B2+ level of English.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle Magento 2.x migration and PHP 8.1+ updates.
• Design end-to-end product data sync between Magento and ERP (BC) via REST/webhooks.
• Take over legacy code, audit, and document clean-up during vendor transition.
• Ensure QA and regression control over B2B pricing, tiers and catalog pages.

About the project: We are modernizing the core e-commerce architecture for an established international aerospace parts distributor. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role where you will take complete technical control of a live production platform, clean up legacy tech debt, and design custom ERP data pipelines. If you enjoy deep backend engineering, architectural autonomy, and building resilient systems without generic cloud shortcuts, this project offers direct engineering ownership from day one.

Key Ownership Areas:

• Full-cycle Magento 2.3.3 → 2.4.x migration, covering PHP 8.1+ updates, extension remediation, and DB schema fixes.
• End-to-end design of the product data sync pipeline connecting Magento to Microsoft Business Central via REST/webhooks.
• Legacy codebase takeover, code audit, and documentation cleanup following the vendor transition.
• Quality assurance and regression control over core B2B pricing, tier structures, and catalog pages.
