The Customs Compliance Analyst is responsible for managing the corporate compliance audit program to ensure compliance with laws and regulations covered by Title 19 of the Code of Federal Regulations (US – "19 CFR") and the Customs Act (Canada), as well as corporate compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls. The Analyst will verify the effectiveness of customs compliance processes by performing compliance testing of all import and export activities conducted by the Company, analyzing and reporting to management the company's compliance rating, identifying areas of non-compliance, and implementing corrective actions. The Analyst may also work with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulatory audit divisions and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), performing necessary research on laws and regulations covered by 19 CFR and the Customs Act.


What you will do

  • Analyze manufacturing processes and inputs to determine the country of origin for imported goods pursuant to regulatory rules and requirements;
  • Review products for applicability of antidumping/countervailing orders, and assignment of correct case numbers and case rates;
  • Determine eligibility for preferential duty treatment under applicable rules of origin;
  • Identify areas of risk and refer products for further evaluation and determinations as warranted;
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and communicate determinations as directed by procedures;
  • Review and monitor the Federal Register and other governmental agency publications for notifications related to country of origin, antidumping and countervailing duties, and preferential duty treatment for existing or new items.


Required Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience working with highly confidential information;
  • 3+ years of experience in import and customs requirements;
  • Previous experience in a position requiring high accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through;
  • Experience utilizing MS Office software.


Preferred Skills/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade or a related discipline;
  • 5+ years of experience with country of origin evaluation, duty preference program qualification, and antidumping/countervailing duties applicability;
  • US Customs Broker license.
