Job summary

Missouri Baptist Medical Center in the St. Louis area seeks a Sr. Advanced Modality Technologist to perform advanced imaging studies, mentor staff, and act as lead in their absence. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance and quality assurance within a safety‑sensitive environment.

The candidate will participate in on‑call and weekend rotations, with opportunities for professional growth in a Magnet-designated program, and will contribute to patient experience and department initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient and equipment for procedures.
• Performs studies independently, in on-call situations, portable exams, and other sites as required.
• Ensures regulatory compliance (ACR, JC) and keeps regulatory information up to date.
• Oversees department quality assurance under supervision of CI/Lead.
• Contributes to safety/quality improvements and patient experience initiatives.
• Leads team efforts to improve patient experience and staff engagement.
• Mentors new employees and students.
• This is a safety-sensitive role requiring alertness.

Preferred Qualifications

Role PurposePerforms all responsibilities of a Advanced Modality

Technologist and assumes responsibilities of the Lead Tech in their absence. Assists in the development and training of students and/or new employees. Senior Advance Modality Technologist must have 3 or more responsibilities within the following categories: hospital/department initiatives, patient experience and employee engagement, quality assurance, process improvement and mentorship. Performs all responsibilities under the direction of lead/charge of advanced modality technologist.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient and equipment for procedures.
• Performs studies independently, in on-call situations, portable exams, and other site as required by work area.
• Assists with regulatory compliance for the department (ACR, JC). Maintains up-to-date regulatory information.
• Oversees department quality assurance program under the direction of the Clinical Instructor or Lead/Charge.
• Participates in department or hospital safety/quality process improvements and initiatives.
• Leads the team in improving patient experience and/or improving employee engagement.
• Mentors new employee and/or clinical students under the direction of the CI.
• BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
