Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Sprinkler Inspector III for field work around Lexington, KY. You will inspect, test, and maintain sprinkler and suppression life safety systems, documenting any deficiencies and ensuring records are complete.

You will perform routine inspections, assist in system installations, and handle minor repairs while adhering to safety and quality standards. The role requires physical capability and flexible hours to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of documented experience in sprinkler systems.
• Ability to obtain and retain licenses required by National, State, and Local codes.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, program schematics, and manuals.
• Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
• Ability to perform physical labor and carry or move equipment weighing up to 50-70 lbs.
• Ability to work in ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment up to 40 feet, ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends.
• Demonstrated high level of customer service.
• Ability to adhere to safety guidelines and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and quick learning ability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and maintenance on sprinkler systems.
• Accurately identify, document, and communicate deficiencies.
• Complete service records with proper coding using laptops or paper.
• Follow a structured inspection schedule and complete inspections on time.
• Perform minor repairs and programming changes when authorized.
• Assist in installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
• Use tools and meters to support inspection and troubleshooting.
• Work safely in challenging field conditions.
