Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Sprinkler Inspector III in Lexington, KY to inspect, test, service, and maintain sprinkler and suppression life safety systems for customers. You will document deficiencies, perform routine inspections, and support field technicians with minor repairs and programming changes.

The role requires 3+ years of sprinkler experience, ability to read blueprints, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of documented experience in sprinkler systems.
• Ability to obtain and retain licenses required by National, State, and Local codes.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, program schematics, and manuals.
• Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
• Ability to perform physical labor and carry or move equipment up to 50-70 lbs.
• Ability to work in ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment up to 40 feet, and in ducts/crawl spaces.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on sprinkler and suppression life safety product lines.
• Accurately identify, document, and communicate deficiencies found during inspections.
• Complete Service Acknowledgements and inspection records with proper coding using laptop computers, smartphones, or hardcopy documentation.
• Follow a highly structured inspection schedule and complete assigned inspections on time.
• Perform minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected when authorized.
• Assist the foreman in the installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
• Use hand tools, testing equipment, and multi-meters to support inspection and troubleshooting work.
• Work safely in challenging field conditions, including ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, and other physically demanding environments.
