The City of Chesapeake Planning Department is seeking a Spring Intern to assist in the Comprehensive Planning Division. You will support the Western Branch Area Plan, help with community outreach, data collection, attend planning meetings, and learn about diverse planning elements.

The ideal candidate is a college student in good standing, preferably a junior/senior or recent graduate, enrolled in an accredited college or university.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in serving the community and working with diverse populations.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.

Responsabilités

• Project support: assist planning staff on various projects.
• Research and analysis: study land use, zoning, and development trends.
• Community outreach: assist in contacting residents and preparing outreach materials.
• Administrative tasks: data entry and related duties.
