Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking temporary, part-time customer service representatives for the Spotted Lanternfly Call Center. The role involves handling inquiries, assisting with sightings, and providing information to the public.

Most work is remote with in-person training at University Park. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8–5 PM, with availability from April/May through November; background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills on the telephone.
• Data entry proficiency.
• Ability to use the provided reference materials and provide information about SLF to customers who call in.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first-line point of contact for external stakeholders interested in reporting a Spotted Lanternfly sighting and/or looking for additional information and resources.
• Maintain the overall operation and professional image of the customer-focused call center.
• Respond to and refer customer questions and/or needs, provide appropriate responses/services, and refer to other departments when necessary.
• Assist with any required reporting with the College SLF team, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, and/or United States Department of Agriculture.
