Navy Region Naval District Washington Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Sports Programs Manager to develop and oversee recreation offerings for active and retired military, civilians, contractors, and dependents. You will lead staff, organize intramural and recreational sports, and ensure facilities and safety standards are maintained.

The role emphasizes inclusivity, program development, and community engagement through coaching, clinics, events, and coordination with MW&R partners.

Qualifications

  • A four-year degree in sports administration or a related field.
  • Professional certification from a sport's governing body.
  • At least three years of experience in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Directs work to be accomplished by staff Assigns work based on priorities, difficulty and requirements of assignments, and staff capabilities.
  • Conducts annual performance reviews of staff. Participates in section staffing decisions.
  • Ensures staff receives proper training fulfill requirements of their positions.
  • Addresses potential disciplinary and/or performance issues timely and takes appropriate corrective action(s) as necessary.
  • Assists in planning and implementing a comprehensive, sports program, for active and retired military, authorized civilians, contractors, and dependents. Program includes self-directed recreation sports, and intramural and/or extramural recreational sports.

Education

Four-year degree in sports administration or related field
