Job summary

Navy Region Southeast Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Community Recreation assistant to support MWR Liberty and related programs. You will help with special events, provide information, process registrations, and assist with day-to-day administration.

Responsibilities include handling POS sales, inventory, and coordination of workshops and trips, while promoting on-base recreation resources and community outreach.

Qualifications

• Combination of experience related to customer service and recreation activity based functions.
• Ability to organize, plan, administer special events and entertainment activities.
• Work independently with sound decision making and clear communication.
• Knowledge of the Navy MWR mission and Community Recreation activities.
• Knowledge of recreation activities operations and procedures.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain records, compile data for reports, and research recreation topics.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of computers, office procedures and print production.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and information about Community Recreation programs and activities.
• Collect fees for tickets, retail, and classes using POS and computer programs.
• Maintain daily sales accuracy and prepare end-of-shift DAR.
• Check in/out equipment, collect rental fees, and inventory items.
• Notify supervisor of damage or loss and ensure proper forms are completed.
• Conduct inventory and maintain accountability of program equipment.
• Assist in administering workshops and events in leisure areas like camping and water sports.
• Provide recreation experiences through day and weekend trips.
• Support administration of multiple programs and data entry.
• Assist with recruitment, training, and scheduling of staff.
• Support planning, promotion, and execution of MWR programs and events.
• Develop partnerships with on-base and off-base organizations.
